The Community River Cleanup last year was highly successful with over 230 community volunteers, and numerous sponsors and partner organizations. Over 8,000 pounds of trash was removed from the River in the section from Comstock to Parchment.

We hope to have over 400 volunteers at this year’s event scheduled for May 17 from 10-2. The goal is to make this a community celebration of the River by starting the day with free coffee, donuts and snacks and end the day with a picnic offering free burgers (beef and vegie) brats, dogs, salads, etc. Other celebration plans including music are still in the works.
