Your country needed you then, the Marine Corps League needs you now! Continue the Mission with us. “Charlie Mike, over.”
The Kalamazoo Detachment was formed in 1994 and we continue to enjoy our dedication and camaraderie as we celebrate over 30 years of service.
We are among the most active Veteran groups in the area. We meet because we enjoy having a good time in each other’s company while serving the Corps and the community.
Join us on the 2nd Thursday of each month at 1900. We meet at the Red Arrow VFW Post at 1920 E. Kilgore Service Rd, Kalamazoo, MI 49002 (near I-94 and the North end of the airport). (map)

Corporal Willis Fund Donation
Corporal Willis and his family recently received Humanitarian Status (HUMS) orders and is now stationed in Battle Creek, Michigan. Corporal Willis and his wife are currently seeking legal custody of his two younger sisters (ages 14 and 7) after the untimely passing of their mother and father this past year. Kalamazoo Detachment #879 is rallying to provide support to the young Marine and his family during this difficult time. We are currently raising money to help pay their monthly expenses, including groceries, utilities, and other outstanding bills. We are also raising money to help purchase a vehicle for the Marine and his family due to their family vehicle breaking down shortly after executing orders back to Michigan. Kalamazoo Detachment #879 will use these monetary donations to help provide short-term financial relief for Corporal Willis and his family. Thank you for your generosity. DONATIONS MAY BE MADE ONLINE by clicking HERE, scanning/clicking the QR code below with your phone or going to our Donations page.
Checks can also be made payable to Kalamazoo Detachment #879 and sent to our Detachment Commandant – Michael Fry – and mailed to the following address: 13463 South 44th Street, Fulton, MI 49052.
The Military Legacy Project
The Military Legacy Project with KINCAPSULE is a powerful initiative aimed at preserving the personal stories, memories, and achievements of veterans for future generations. By utilizing KINCAPSULE’s innovative digital time capsule platform, veterans can record and store their experiences, ensuring that their contributions to the nation are never forgotten. These stories are carefully documented, enabling families, friends, and future generations to access and reflect on the rich history of service, sacrifice, and dedication that has shaped our military legacy. This project not only honors the past but also creates a lasting tribute to the bravery and resilience of those who served, ensuring their impact is felt for years to come.
